One of the primary purposes of The Professional Association (TPA) is to advance to profession of Boys & Girls Club leaders at all levels through training, development and networking.
Historically, TPA had a program called the Career Assistance Network which paired newer BGC professionals with more tenured CEOs in the Movement for career guidance and mentoring. We would like to hit “restart” on this program by piloting a Mentoring Program through TPA.
We have tenured and successful CEOs and BGCA leaders who have “raised their hand” to serve as mentors. They have also participated in a virtual call to prepare themselves for this role. They recall being recipients of mentoring and guidance from BGC leaders before them and are excited to pay it forward to the next generation.
If you are wondering if a long-term career with Boys & Girls Clubs may be possible, this could be a great opportunity for you.
If you are anxious to understand more about the Movement and broaden your perspective and relationships beyond your local Club, this may be a fit for you.
If you are struggling and need some objective support and feedback—either emotionally or intellectually—a mentor may be the sounding board and motivator you need.
The mentors are committed to providing a minimum of an hour of dialogue each month for a period of six months. The relationships often continue well beyond the formal program.
Applicants should be TPA members. Please make sure your membership is up to date by logging into your account before you submit a request.
